Western Economic and Strategic Treaty
Traité Économique et Stratégique de l'Ouest
The aftermath of the War Against Ezic, a coalition formed against the terrorist group resulting in the invasion and partial annexation of Ezic, had shown to the world that change was necessary. The Western Economic and Strategic Treaty Alliance was born in the name of uniting nations against international threats and pursuing economic progress for the developed world. This entails the establishment of multiple prospects. Primarily, WEST will focus its resources towards international cooperation in military action, along with commerce. This will create an international standard for member nations to follow, as bloodthirsty political leaders will be shutdown not through the intensified will of one nation, but with a controlled force of many. Furthermore, member nations will be incentivized to establish international trade agreements with member nations, and WEST will also open up the possibility of further economic development in the name of technological advancement. WEST's other goals lie within the establishment of war crimes, international law, and human rights. Member nations will be able to discuss, with an appointed Secretary General who is elected from candidates of member nations, what the fundamental rights are to all human beings, how war can be legally fought, and the judiciary aspect of core universal law.
WEST will operate as a political and military alliance between all member nations involved. Meaning, as a political alliance, all nations will have embassies with each other, have encouraged diplomatic talks, economic unions, and would seek to further the interests of both nations. At a military level, all nations, upon integration into WEST, sign a military defence treaty swearing that their nation, as long as they are member countries, will defend their allies against attacks on their soil. Furthermore, all member nations are expected to contribute to a multinational WEST Armed Forces, which, upon establishment, would hold a multitude of military equipment and soldiers that oversee any WEST-sponsored military operations. Member nations will also be given the opportunity to appoint forces under WEST, while still keeping them under their own national supervision. Member nations are expected to contribute to WEST economically through continuing to pay expenses for their contributed equipment, and pay a reasonable share out of the respective nations' current funding for military. WEST-run military will be overseen by two security chiefs that are chosen by the current Secretary General, one of which can be themselves. This is done so to make sure military action is not only agreed upon by one chief.
Also, sanctions, economic agreements, etcetera. are all chosen by a unanimous consensus from all nations that have an equal voice when negotiating. Finally, Any nation may choose to join WEST, but if a current member nation believes political, economic, and/or military reform is necessary, member nations may convene and send a letter of requests to the respective nation before they be allowed to join.
